Interest Group Updates

CLAW

New tickets on CLAW created by Danny, new work on install process, stack updated to Fedora 4.7.0. Drupal 8 front-end and Content Model work, good community support on testing and even some tickets were taken.

Islandora Events

  • IslandoraCon: Planning committee selected the final list of workshops, wentout to possible instructors plus idea of co-instructor. 8 spots and 2 tracks. Closing other topics like hotel selections, etc. Sponsorships doubled thanks to Mark Baggett.

  • CNI: https://www.cni.org/events/membership-meetings/upcoming-meeting/fall-2016. Nick and Melissa, trying to get more members through presenting in front of decision makers. Hydra has a goodrecord on doing this at CNI events. Will de in Washington DC. Rochester has an interesting Islandora site and will be presenting in a block with Nick/Melissa.

  • Code4Lib LA - anyone going? The IF can't send someone, so community representation would be good. Erin and Kim have proposals.

  • OR2017: Call of proposals extended to the end of this month. Nick and Melissa will be presenting about CLAW, Melissa updating on Islandora, also a Poster session diagramming CLAW. Metro.org via Diego will propose a presentation about their first CLAW production repository (aspires to be the first) which should be running by June 2017. Nick will be also presenting Export/Import work in Fedora4

Round Table

  • Danny: Finishing CLAW.

  • Diego: Multi importer had good community interaction, will get some updates from other institutions. Will be presenting at https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/Events/Fedora+Camp+NYC+-+28-30+November+2016. Chris Stanton will be presenting on Nov. 30th at Hello Islandora, NYC.

  • Rosie(UPEI): Migration for 6.x to 7.x work.

  • Jonathan Green: Not much to report, some new islandora 7.x instances at Lyrasys.

  • Kirsta: Proposal to present web annotation module for video/js at Code4Lib. Functionality should work with little work on other viewers/cmodels. New system administrator working on a new production instance. https://github.com/digitalutsc/islandora_web_annotations

  • Nick:

  • Fedora things: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/Events/Fedora+Camp+NYC+-+28-30+November+2016 and export/import sprint

  • York: migrated to new server large server, Islandora runs now on two server and they are using BlazeGraph and SI's work on triple store replacement. Snappy site. See https://digital.library.yorku.ca/cat/show Just went over 1.000.000 objects. The Old server runs Fedora 3.8.x and Gsearch. They did an 200000 objects ingest in a week (page and book cmodel) handling 14 instances of tesseract at the same time. Explained about his SSL/Caching approach.
