Open Access Charges
Our funding agencies will cover most open access charges. It's still neccesary to apply for this funding. This process is described here:
- Can only apply once manuscript has been accepted:
- Imperial Open Access Fund (Imperial Fund) is available to authors who do not have eligible open access funding in their research award or whose work is not externally funded.
- Look at list of journals they fund Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). However, they did fund eLife for me despite it not being listed.
Then deposit in Symplectic: https://www.imperial.ac.uk/SymplecticElements/login.html
To make an application for APC funding, deposit your accepted manuscript in Symplectic and select "yes" when prompted
If your application is approved, you will receive an email within 2 to 5 days which will include further instructions and a purchase order (PO) number to facilitate payment.
Grant ref for open access charges is UKDRI-5008
. Ideally the specific grant numbers should be added to the acknowledgements of the papers.
Students on the MRC DTC have a separate grant code for their publications. For the 2018 intake it is MR/N014103/1.
