Switchable Tanks(TM) are our latest development. These tanks may be configured for one of the resource types. For example, a tank may be build to hold any liquid chemical. Such tank could than store Liquid Fuel, Oxidizer, Monopropellant and so on. Obviously, you cannot mix the chemicals inside the same tank, but if the tank is empty, you can switch the resource it can hold even in-flight!

Soil Type Tank

And if a tank is compatible with the Tank Manager technology you can go even further and in-editor partition a tank into several compartments, each configured for its own resource type and a resource. Use the "Edit Tanks" button in the context menu:

Remember, that even an empty compartment takes up its space, so if a tank is already partitioned and no volume is left, you need to remove some compartments before you can add some more.

Also note, that a part cannot have more than one storage of any resource, so you cannot have, for example, two compartments both configured for the Liquid Fuel in the same tank. This is a KSP limitation.
