Asteroid Mining Factory

After you attached and permanently fixed the Asteroid Hatch to the asteroid, you need to dig a cavern big enough to store whole ships. This is where our super-heavy-duty Asteroid Mining Factory comes in:

The factory itself is a complete ship with integrated reaction wheel, batteries, generators, monoporellant tank, RCS thrusters, some space for the grinded rock and the Square Docking Port.

Aside from propulsion, the Factory is enough to create a storage space of a decent size. But if you want to be efficient -- to create a really big storage for your station and utilize what you've mined, to reuse the Factory in the future -- you need to handle the resources.

The rock you've mined (tens of tons) cannot be just harmlessly disposed of. So when the Factory's containers are full, the mining is stopped automatically. To continue mining you need to attach additional containers, or transfer the rock to a cargo vessel. This is where our Switchable Tanks come in handy.

More than that: using our specialized Resource Converters you can utilize the otherwise useless rock, producing precious metal that could be used in construction later on right on site. And if you are planning to develop a colony, the remaining silicates with addition of some fertilizers may be used as a substrate for biomass production.
