Target Audience

Midas and Open Opportunities were created as part of the President's Second Term Management Agenda (Obama Administration 2012) including:

We seek to transform how the US Government serves its people by creating a more efficient, effective and productive federal workforce.

Target Market: US Federal Employees who are motivated to make positive change and improve their skills

While there is some interest from the armed services and we welcome any federal employee to participate, our outreach efforts focus on civilan employees across hundreds of agencies in the US federal government. For target market sizing, we looked at the 2014 Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey. Our focus is the 35% of federal employees who agreed or strongly agreed with #32 "Creativity and innovation are rewarded." Generally this is considered as a low number, however with 2.7M employees, that defines an initial target audience of almost 1M people.

Note: the National Archives Summary (page 8) calls out this as one of the Bottom Ten: Most Negative Response Items. We fully expect that adoption of this style of work will have positive effects on people who are (currently) less motivated, however, we believe that the way to create significant early growth is to provide tools and resources to empower our most motivated employees.
