The meeting started at 14:05.
We discussed what we've been working on and what we're doing this afternoon:
- Wilf Wilson -- Has been thinking about how to efficiently compute the partial order of L-classes (or R-classes) of a finite semigroup, in certain cases. This has arisen in relation to work on generating sets for direct products. Today Wilf will write some code to implement these ideas.
- Julius Jonusas -- Has not been programming recently. He will discuss some ideas with James today before they continue their paper-writing (detailed below).
- Chris Russell -- Has been focused on SMSTC. He is writing tests for his E-unitary inverse semigroups implementation in the Semigroups package.
- Isabella Scott -- Writing tests for her matchings implementation in the Digraphs package.
- Luke Elliott and Alex Levine -- Are awaiting new tasks. They will be adding Python bindings for libsemigroups.
-
James Mitchell -- Has made a change to libsemigroups that Michael has been
waiting for. James and Julius have been writing a paper together which
describes their
ClosureSemigroup
variation of the Froidure-Pin algorithm.
Markus turned up at 14:50. Markus, James, and Wilf discussed James's Pull Request 1130 on GAP, which addresses Issue #251 on the Semigroups package. Markus will comment on the PR with the results of this discussion, and James will make the necessary changes so that it can be merged.
Markus and James also spoke about computing automorphism groups of finite semigroups.
- Markus and Chris depart at 15:25.
- James and Julius depart at 15:40 to continue work on their joint paper. Simon leaves at the same time.
- Collin retires to his office at 15:50.
The meeting ends at 17:15.
