  • Everyone needs to start learning unity
  • Thursday 12pm for presenters this week: Suying, Kevin, Yianni and Raymond.
  • Thursday 4-6pm for whole group
  • Job reallocation
  • Make sure whole team knows how to use Github in Unity
  • Preferably start coding

Game Design Decisions

  • Decide on number of main characters (ie. if young and old Jessica is going to be two seperate characters on just one).

    • Decision: only one main character, the old Jessica spiritually “possess” the young Jessica.
  • Decide the mechanism of the battle between bad NPC and Jessica

    • Decision: Decided to have users type arrow keys in order of the keys appearing on the screen.
  • Decide on how bad guy is displayed and indicated on screen

    • Proposed ideas
      • Bad NPC shows aura when Jessica approaches
      • Bad NPC wears a hat or have different characteristics to show they are bad, and aura appears when Jessica approaches
      • Bad NPC always have a small aura, but aura expands when Jessica approaches
      • Fixed aura showing all the time on bad NPC.
    • Decision: follow iv.
  • Proposed and decided idea: have different sizes of auras for different NPCs to indicate level of difficulty to defeat it.

    • Smaller the aura, the more difficult it is.
  • Decision on game quests

    • Ideas:
      • Have character stand before certain NPCs to gain confidence.
      • RPG style: talk to NPCs in order and collect objects to gain confidence.
      • To indicate the NPC Jessica need to talk to next, have an indicator above that specific NPC (in replacement of a quest log)
  • Start setting up Unity with Github.

  • Revised model from previous meetings
  • Added in UI manager with associated screens
  • Talked to tutor: need to indicate and show important associations on the model
