Pay.gov looks different, is this a real site?

Rebekah-Hernandez edited this page Oct 20, 2020 · 3 revisions

Pay.gov is an official government website where payments are processed for a myriad of different things including Christmas tree permits.

The Open Forest system was designed to be integrated with pay.gov rather than spend time and resourced to create a new system by which payments can be made to the Forest Service. You can assure the customer that it is indeed a secure government website used to safely process the payment for your permit.

Once directed to pay.gov, this URL will appear in the address bar: https://www.pay.gov/tcsonline/payment

Once your credit card or payment method information is entered and submitted you will be directed back to Open Forest to a confirmation page where you can print your permit and rules, or you can see that your permit and rules have been emailed to you.
