Overview

Icons indicate to users without the need of text in the first instance.

Use of this pattern

• Avoid unnecessary decoration - only use icons and images if there’s a real user need.
• If icons are needed ensure they are clear, simple and accompanied by relevant text where possible.
• Try not to hide functionality under icons except in certain instances. i.e. mobile limitations.
• Only use icons provided within the framework.
