Transition to capgen.py

• GitHub project "capgen unification" https://github.com/NCAR/ccpp-framework/projects/3
• Steve on leave until mid October
• Create a new issue to capture the work on implementing the var_action class
• Steve and Dom need to come up with estimated on how long the different tasks take
• Navy would like to use capgen in their first operational implementation, but the implementation window is closing fast (when?)

Dictionary of standard names

• From last week:
  • Discussion of standard name for general heating rate https://github.com/ESCOMP/CCPPStandardNames/issues/22#issuecomment-916361252
  • Basically settled, will open PR after more standard names have been collected

CCPP proposal internal JTTI funding on surface composite physics

• We were invited to submit a full proposal based on the LOI
• Note that this is different from the NOFO/JTTI call for proposals discussed last week
• This work needs to be done in capgen
• CCPP metadata is becoming more complex, we should dedicate a section to it in the CCPP technical documentation
