capgen.py progress

• Working? on PR addressing #346 (ignore missing optional arguments)
  • merged
• Concern about new rule for host model provision of 'block' information:
  • Host model most provide these block details when using blocked data structures, and/or horizontal_loop_begin/horizontal_loop_end when using flat data structures
    • Possible issue with the and, we could end up with two (different) definitions of horizontal_loop_begin/horizontal_loop_end.
  • Need to restrict the host model to use either/or, not both

Transition to capgen.py

• Dom started working on the last IPD cleanup steps, and updating/simplifying the codebase
• Open PRs from Xia related to the transition to capgen.py (Dom to work on these)
  • Use assumed sizes for array declarations
  • Clean up grandfathered stuff (use of constants)

• need to create issues for additional tasks in DTC statement of work:
  • automatic array transformations (e.g. k,i to i,k)
  • calculate derived variables (e.g. potential temperature from temperature and geopotential)
