Character name input ignores unusual characters

When creating a character, only characters in [a-zA-Z ] appear to be recognized. This puts a lot of sensible (and even more less-sensible) names out of reach, like O'Brien, Billy-Bob, Dr. Smith, John "The Muscle" Rinker, Amélie, Günther, Trißtan...

ｱｷｺ, ｲﾁﾛ, and ｼﾝｼﾞ are also out, as are fullwidth forms of same (although fullwidth limitations are somewhat more tricky to get around in general).

Well, Japanese names will have to wait for unicode support (...oh jeez, full-width >_<), but ASCII characters are something that can be addressed right now.

Still, O'Brien is a good start.
