Hobo Highlights Ideas

An idea has come up to have a “Hobo Highlights” page on hobocentral.net somewhere. The goal is to solve the problem that “I had no idea Hobo could help with that”.

Please add your ideas for features that should be highlighted here.

• Upload an image file and display on the current page after upload
• Dryml parameter replacement/addition/removal
• Tag creation, extension of rapid tags, polymorphic tags
• Hobo fields and migrations
• Hobo ajax, parts and updates, smart removal
• Ajax style editors, input-many, autocompleters
• Permissions – how links disappear when you don’t have sufficient permissions
• A “worked example” of DRYML vs. ERB; start with a typical page in ERB and rewrite it in DRYML one piece at a time (ie, layout → page tag first, change partials to tags, clean up forms, and so on) Not exactly a typical real-world usage, but it would make it easier for current Rails devs to see the radical improvement.
• Lifecycles, email verification example
• Viewhints, tweaking forms without overrides
• Hobo ruby extensions like .* and .try
• Collections and cards
• Table plus, actually all the rapid plus tags
• Navigation menus
• Drag and drop selection example with search to filter when using a long list of items.
