Description

This PR resolves this #3631 and #3621, the input should be focused whenever a user is in chat view instead of clicking on it again every time user switches to chat

Hi @elemanhillary @scottnonnenberg-signal I just found this issue because I was going to open my own about the behaviour. Are you planning to revisit the PR at all?

@Rylon If I recall correctly, this was extremely tricky to get right.

Maybe the right workaround is to use CMD+Shift+T or Ctrl+Shift+T to focus the composition area yourself when you switch back to the app?

Ah yeah, thanks for that tip, the shortcut takes some of the pain away for sure. The biggest issue is that it seems intermittent, sometimes I'll select the window and it'll have focus, sometimes it won't.
