Orbit

We are on a mission to empower every university student the ability to find and approach other people who share similar interests. Ultimately helping each one of us create lifelong friendships. At its core, Orbit addresses the isolation people feel despite living in a highly connected world. Its goal is to create a community where users—referred to as "astronauts"—can explore social connections, make friends, and feel a sense of belonging. It targets individuals seeking to meet new people and build genuine relationships in a safe, personalized, and engaging environment.

Core Features

1. Onboarding Process
   • Tailored onboarding flow with questions about:
     • Profile Questions
     • Friendship Values
     • Lifestyle Preferences
     • Interaction Preferences
     • Social Situations
   • This ensures users are matched with others who share compatible interests and values.
2. Meeting Requests
   • Quick Requests: Simple swiping gestures to request a meetup.
   • Custom Requests: Personalized meetups initiated with a single tap.
   • Users can manage outgoing requests in the "Pending" tab and cancel if necessary.
3. Receiving Requests
   • Incoming requests are displayed in the home screen inbox.
   • Users can accept or decline, with accepted requests creating a conversation in the messaging tab.
4. Messaging
   • Utilizes Appwrite's real-time capabilities for:
     • Pre-meetup communication.
     • Planning details.
     • General chat.
5. Location Sharing
   • Shared locations for meetup spots.
   • Real-time navigation to the shared location without revealing individual live locations.
