Can you also add a link from the FAQ entry for https://istio.io/latest/faq/metrics-and-logs/#telemetry-v1-vs-v2 (the last bullet) to this this new entry ?

Updated, although it is not only for short lived jobs. It can be short lived deployment, or traffic goes out of the mesh and has random host header. So I make it How can I manage short-lived metrics?.

I've added a link there, and reworded a bit to make it clear that this is not only about short lived jobs. We've actually resolved cron job case in 1.5 by normalizing its workload metadata.
