Bluetooth Mesh ‐ SDF conversion
Bluetooth is one of the largest ecosystems of IoT devices, thus it is essential that SDF can support the features that are used in Bluetooth for the device specifications. The main target is to provide support for onboarding of Bluetooth devices into systems that use SDF for cross-ecosystem device support.
For this particular study, we selected the Bluetooth Mesh Models that were introduced when the Bluetooth mesh networking was developed. It differs slightly from the earlier Bluetooth device models.
In the following document, we describe the findings of this study and suggest a way to make mapping between Bluetooth Mesh models and SDF. There are some discussion topics listed at the end of the document. However, at the time of writing, it seems that in general SDF is well designed to describe also these Bluetooth Mesh models.
