OpenQuake 0.4 Risk Deterministic_Event_Based_Risk_Assessment

bwyss edited this page Mar 16, 2011 · 2 revisions

One of the Goals of GEM is to develop a computational engine that identifies earthquake risk. As part of the risk charter, deterministic event based risk assessment calculations need to be made. Deterministic event-based risk assessment involves the calculation of losses (or loss ratios) for a given set of exposed assets, for a single deterministic earthquake scenario. It requires a ground-motion field (GMF), discrete vulnerability functions and exposure portfolios. The deterministic event based assessment is intended to produce loss / loss ratio maps and statistical data for a specific site.
