Welcome to the OpenQuake wiki!

OpenQuake software provides calculation and assessment of seismic hazard, risk and socio-economic impact of earthquakes via the data, methods and standards that are being developed by GEM and its collaborators on global and regional scale. Within this wiki you can find:

To get involved in OpenQuake, please join us on IRC (irc.freenode.net) in the #openquake channel by using an IRC client or via web at http://webchat.freenode.net. We also make use of our mailing list http://groups.google.com/group/openquake-dev.

In order to use OpenQuake, you'll need some input data. We have republished the USGS National Seismic Hazard Mapping Project dataset (including bug fixes to be compatible with the OpenQuake converter library), available at http://github.com/gem/usgs-nshm

The seismic hazard calculations of OpenQuake are powered by OpenSHA-lite, a stripped-down and library-ified version of the OpenSHA application from http://www.opensha.org. OpenSHA-lite is available at http://github.com/gem/opensha.

For more information on OpenQuake, the community and extensive documentation on its installation, please visit http://openquake.org
