• Refactor template factories to align with the RFC (Refactor template factory ember.js#18096)
• Implement basic runtime support ([FEATURE set-component-template] ember.js#18158)
  • getComponentTemplate / setComponentTemplate
  • Update rendering engine to use getComponentTemplate before attempting to resolve
• Implement templateOnlyComponent() ([FEATURE set-component-template] Add @ember/component/template-only ember.js#18190)
• Implement component blueprint changes (Implement component co-location blueprints ember.js#18203)
• Enable feature flag ([FEATURE ember-glimmer-set-component-template] Enable by default. ember.js#18198)

Ember CLI Team:

ember-cli

• Refactor template build pipeline to allow ember-cli-htmlbars changes (Refactor template build pipeline to enable co-located templates. ember-cli/ember-cli#8633)
• Update ember-cli-htmlbars to emit the correct output for co-located components (Initial implementation of co-located templates RFC. ember-cli/ember-cli-htmlbars#249)
  • Investigate and address performance concerns

• write a blurb for the release blog
• document in octane guides guides-source - especially requires work in the quickstart and tutorial
• update ember-cli's explanation of file layouts (can be done before octane) cli-guides
• check for anywhere to update in API docs (search for places where we mention filepaths and fix them, likely revise the Components explanations).
