Steam Launcher Utility

Description

This extension allows you to configure the way steam is launched when starting a Steam game in both Playnite Desktop and Fullscreen mode:

• Launch Steam without its web browser to reduce RAM usage
• Launch Steam in Big Picture Mode
• Close Steam if it's detected as running to launch it with the configured settings

Notes

What will work without the Browser:

• You can play games normally
• You can install games and see your game list in Steam
• You can access Steam settings normally
• You can obtain achievements
• Play time in Steam will work correctly

What won't work while in this mode:

• You can't uninstall games (Applies trying to Uninstall via Playnite as well).
• Steam Chat will be unavailable while playing a game when the overlay is enabled in settings.
• You can't use the Steam browser, so you can't access community pages, browse the Store or use the overlay browser

Please make sure to understand this and don't ask for support when the drawbacks have been explained.

To access the missing functions you can still launch Steam normally.

It is recommended to use the "Auto Close Clients" feature in Playnite to not interfere with the uninstall feature by only launching Steam in this mode when a game will be played and for the Whitelist/Blacklist feature to work correctly.
