The mdEditor uses a default translator (https://api.sciencebase.gov/mdTranslator/api/v3/translator). An alternate translator may be specified if there is a need to do so, such as, if a user has developed a custom translation. The "mdTranslator API URL" can be configured under the mdEditor "Settings" menu.
If you get errors in running the translator, check your settings. It may be pointing to a discontinued hosting instance: https://mdtranslator.herokuapp.com/api/v3/translator. If so, replace the pathname with the scienceBase hosted default.
