Please upload the schematics for the controller board. These will likely be .SchDoc files. While you're at it, there's nothing here at all for the electronics of the display or the tool head breakout board.

Thanks!

Since this appears to be forwarding to the general support e-mail, I'll clarify. I am talking about the "fully open source" design files for the SV06 that Sovol has released on GitHub here https://github.com/Sovol3d/SV06-Fully-Open-Source.

You have uploaded the PCB board layout (.PcbDoc files) for the motherboard, but not for the display or the tool head breakout board. You also have not uploaded the schematics (.SchDoc) for any of the boards. For this printer to truly be called open source, you should upload those files.

1.0.17 and 1.0.18 seem to be versions of firmware for the SV07. I am talking about the SV06 and I am talking about the design files for the hardware, not about the firmware.

Thanks!

Sovol markets the SV06 as "fully open source" yet you have not released all of the source for the printer. I am asking you to release the missing source for the controller, display, and breakout boards. Until you do so, you should not be marketing the SV06 as "fully open source" because it is not true.

Please upload the schematics (.SchDoc) for the control board and the schematics (.SchDoc), board layout (.PcbDoc), and BOMs for the display and tool head breakout boards to GitHub.

Hi Sovol, I will +1 this and request schematic files of the toolhead and main motherboard PCBs.
I would also benefit greatly from access to these and it is very bad marketing to proclaim something "fully open source" when it is not - it goes against the core values of the maker community and makes everyone look bad.
Thanks,
Adam

I don't understand. I'm not asking about a specific problem with my SV06, I just want the schematic available to myself and other SV06 users on this Github page.
The SV06 is marketed as being "Fully Open Source" (including on this very Github repo), which is blatantly false until the schematics for the motherboard are released here.
I like many of the things Sovol does as a company, but false advertising definitely isn't one of them.
I hope this issue is fixed so that myself and others can appreciate the SV06 as a legitimately "Fully Open Source Printer".

It's not that any of the files that are there are wrong, its that there are files that are missing entirely.

As I said earlier, the schematics (.SchDoc) for all of the boards (controller board, display board, and tool head breakout board) are missing. The board layout (.PcbDoc) files for the display board and the tool head breakout board are also missing.

You already asked that. Read the thread.

Being open source means being open to everyone, not just people with order numbers. Besides, this is a public issue tracker, I won't post my order number here for everyone to see.

Sovol, is there an update on this issue? You continue to market the SV06 as "fully open source" despite that not being true. Please upload the requested schematics and board layout files to GitHub.

waiting for somebody to reverse engineer the pcb and make it open source

Made a quick schematic with part numbers of all the connectors on the PCB and how they connect to each other. It might not be exact but I used the documentation in this repo and bassamanator's repo.

Limeskey, thanks for this reverse engineering, looks great!

Sovol, it's been over 3 months. Do you have an update on providing these files and fulfilling your promise of a "fully open source 3D printer"?
