Welcome to the Main Guide for Hetmen's Artificial Leader (HAL) wiki!

This Wiki is a WIP. Started as of 3/25/2024. It will be updated as time allows. If there are improvements that can be made or if things can be clarified better, please submit a suggestion on the Issues Page.

There are a lot of different resources that drill into specific aspects of configuring HAL. This is intended to bring everything together so that it is easier to maintain if something changes or turns out to be inaccurate.

Lastly, let it be known that HAL does nothing to fix Base Game AI issues. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Pathing (Both for Infantry and Vehicles)
  • Getting stuck on things
  • Running over Teammates during close Combined Ops environments (Or in the open road and they were just feeling light an Aquarius)

Some mods such as LAMBs can help with this, but ARMA AI will still be ARMA AI. Very complex and sometimes it's problems are unavoidable. In such circumstances, there may be things that can be done to mitigate these issues. But they usually can't be completely squashed.

With that in mind, If you are just getting HAL to move infantry units around on their own, See the Setup Section that covers the bare bones configuration of getting HAL functioning.

If you have HAL working and want to get into having some additional services available for HAL to give orders to such as transporting or resupplying groups, See Support Services.

Advanced will cover some more niche things that can be done to help perform its duties. This could be tweaking Commander settings to using scripting for a more custom setup for getting HAL to work.
