Steps to implement Biomass Based Recruitment
- Set flagrecruitXXX to 11 (Recruitment type flag)
- Set XXX_mQ for adult group to original value by Ryan Morse (Mortality File) - This keeps the group from increasing exponentially which often happens when this recruitment method is used.
- Bracket FSP_XXX from 0.0001 to 0.5 - automating multiple runs using //net/EDAB/atlantis/R/edit_param_FSP.r to find a value that results in reasonable results (e.g between 2 - 20 times initial biomass)
- An issue that often occurs is that the age structure either oscillates (Age 0 dominates and then propagates through the age classes) or the early age classes dominate to too large an extent. This is usually resolved by skewing the C_XXX and mum_XXX parameters to lower values for the early age classes and to higher values for the later age classes, followed by a new bracketing of FSP_XXX.
(XXX = Functional Group Name)
