  • kissing symmetric registration may register to any point in between the input images (not simply the middle point)

  • animaAverageImages now also handles tensors in log-Euclidean space
  • animaComputeDTIScalarMaps becomes animaDTIScalarMaps and includes some more scalar maps
  • add 4d and vector image support to animaImageResolutionChanger
  • switch to ITK 5.2.1
  • other minor bugs corrections

  • add b-value shell selection to ODF estimation
  • fixes in reorientation algorithms for diffusion images registration and resampling
  • under the hood work in registration: resampling now automatically sets default background value to -1024 for CT images
  • bug corrections in NODDI compartment implementation
  • bug corrections in noise generation tool
  • new release of Anima scripts along with this release

  • New release of Anima scripts v2.2 along with this release
  • Other minor bug corrections

ISMRM 2018 release of Anima

Binary versions are compiled for Fedora 25 (64 bits) and above, Ubuntu 16.04 (64 bits) and above, OSX 10.9 (Mavericks) and above, and Windows 7 (64 bits) and above. For more recent versions or if these binaries do not work on your OS, please build them from source (refer to the wiki for this).

Among new things are the following:

  • New multi-compartment T2 and myelin water fraction estimation tool with fixed Gaussian PDF parameters from relaxometry sequences
  • Addition of a new transformation type for linear registration: constrained affine transformation along a direction. Also better default initialization testing, and closest rigid transformation export
  • Addition of a NODDI compartment to MCM estimation
  • Faster MCM estimation, more optimization algorithms available
  • Correct rare errors in DTI and MCM registration algorithms
  • Other minor bug corrections/evolutions

ISBI 2018 release of Anima (new relaxometry tools and major bug fixes)

Among new things are the following:

  • New T2 and B1 estimation of mono-component T2 relaxation times from relaxometry sequences
  • New multi-compartment T2 and myelin water fraction estimation tools from relaxometry sequences
  • Update tractography algorithms (probabilistic tractography does not use DWI images anymore, output compatible with medInria 3.0)
  • Add Taquet et al similarity metrics for multi-tensors registration
  • Correct border handling errors in DTI and MCM registration algorithms
  • Add isosurface extraction tool from binary segmentation
  • Correct rare errors in DTI estimation filter
  • Update Eddy current experimental tool to handle well movement correction and distortion (the first one being applied to gradients, not the second one)
  • Other minor bug corrections/evolutions
