Pre-release

User visible additions in this release:

  • support creating more tiles and pieces (using 32bit instead of 16bit ID values)
  • pieces with up to 100 sides
  • boards that are not viewable by non-owners
  • geomorphic board enhancements:
    • display cell location using the same location string as the original board
    • permit even numbers of hexes
    • handle the boards in Peter Lomax Ogre/GEV .gbx
    • support geomorphic boards with square cells
    • allow rotating unit boards (hex: 180 degrees, square: 90/180/270 degrees)

Internally, this release adds 64bit process support and improves type safety. Of course there have also been various bug fixes.

Known issues:

  • The window layout does not get restored properly. This is not likely to be fixed in the near future.
  • The display of many graphical elements is too small on HiDPI screens. Work on this is in progress.

Most recent systems support 64bit applications, and for any that do, I recommend using it. This allows software to use much more memory, and is the current focus of development. For now, we are still building 32bit CyberBoard, but it is not receiving the same degree of testing, and may eventually be dropped.

I suggest using the Debug version as it has many activated sanity checks (aka ASSERTs). The Release version would simply crash in those instances without helpful information.

This release fixes additional user interface quirks experienced in the new MFC feature pack code.

The files containing "symbols" are only needed if you run the program in a debugger.

In the beginning I suggest using the Debug version as it has many activated sanity checks (aka ASSERTs). The Release version would simply crash in those instances without helpful information.
