Purpose of change
Someone asked about this and it's reasonable Innawood (the only thing you could use it for there are the matrix crystal elixirs).
Describe the solution
Make the recipes auto-learn at Applied Science 5/Metaphysics 3.
Swap out the microscope for a magnifying glass. Innawood-ify the magnifying glass recipe (it requires a crude lens) and make it autolearn if you have MoM installed

Testing
Loaded up game with appropriate skills, recipes were learned, ingredients were changed.
