@kevingranade I did the research and separation funnels and centrifuges are literally used for the same exact thing. Also, analytical centrifuges do exist. Finally, "a separatory funnel should never be used with a hot or warm liquid" (Source), and mutagens require heat to make. |

Additional context
Centrifuges are describe as "a liquid separating device with an automated analyzer unit", and they are clearly operational as they are used for a mission to analyze a small vial of blood, so there is no reason why they couldn't be used for separation and analysis - especially in a high-tech lab.
On the discussion of balance: the centrifuge is buried many layers underground behind turrets and monsters, in a maze-like building that your map memory will likely blank on, and you can't move it. Plus, it still can't be used to make serums - and the lab's lack of that equipment can be explained by fractional distillation requiring a lot of fragile glass.
