MINGW Git Bash doesn't display the cursor or auto completion

When executing the example programm in the MINGW Git Bash console the cursor and the auto completion are not displayed as shown below:

The application was built through MSVC 19.12.25835.0 targeting Windows.

Can you check if you have the same issue if you start it in plain Windows console (aka cmd)?

Through the default Windows CMD it works as intended:

I investigated this and it looks like git-bash has its own terminal emulation through mintty and Windows console handling routines simply will not work under plain mintty.

There are two solution for this, either use winpty command supplied with git-bash (like so: winpty example-cxx-api.exe or reimplement winpty functionality in replxx.

I do not think later approach is a good idea as winpty code is rather large and complicated and the use case for this feature is rather limited (and superfluous as viable alternative exists).

I am inclined to close this issue as is unless other approach to the problem is proposed.

I looked further into this and it looks like the only way to make replxx work without winpty program in mintty is to add dependency on MSYS package. I do not really think this it is a good idea as this dependency would be useful only for mintty users that for some reason do not want to use winpty program.

I am closing this as a "wontfix".
