Double clicking selects words. A word boundary includes the period character which means clicking something like './foo/bar/zoo.rs' will select '/foo/bar/zoo'. Is there a way to retain the word boundary selection but also have a path selection mode (e.g. triple-click or click while holding the shift)?

try with Quickselect, you can also configure the pattern in QuickSelectArgs or quick_select_patterns you want to select in quick select mode.

Have you tried to tweak the option I mentioned in my reply above?
There is no single universal definition of 'normal word boundaries', you have to tweak this yourself in your config.
If that's not enough please explain why

If I teak it, then this will also apply to "normal" double click selection (right?). I want to have both: be able to select a word with double click, and be able to select a path with triple-click (or double-click with a modifier)

Oh.. that's not easy to do, you might be able hack this in your configuration using a custom mouse binding, that:

• set's up a config override to change word selection config
• triggers the original word selection action
• resets the config override

But I'm not sure the config override will be properly applied immediately 😬
