The Timed Text Working Group just discussed TPAC Planning.

The full IRC log of that discussion <nigel> Topic: TPAC Planning
<nigel> Nigel: This is our last call before we meet at TPAC
<nigel> .. Would be good to have as many agenda topics as needed for Chairs to wrangle.
<nigel> Agenda: https://github.com//issues/261
<nigel> Github: https://github.com//issues/262
<nigel> Nigel: Specific requested topics:
<nigel> .. To discuss webvtt issue 511 about metadata cue formats
<nigel> .. and
<nigel> .. Eric Carlson and Marcos Caceres asked for time to talk about a Text Track Cue proposal they are planning to work on.
<nigel> .. That one is about cues that insert HTML fragments. I think Pierre had some involvement with that
<nigel> .. several years ago.
<nigel> .. It's in the Safari Developer Preview and has been for a while.
<nigel> .. Looks like they want to take it to the next stage and discuss actual spec changes, and TTWG
<nigel> .. is one of the affected groups I think.
<nigel> .. They asked for it to be later in the day so US folk can dial in. Eric will be there in person.
<nigel> Gary: I will not be.
<nigel> Nigel: Are there any other specific agenda topic requests right now?
<nigel> .. The other two agenda topics that I recalled DAPT and IMSC-HRM implementations
<nigel> .. As last year for DAPT I would hope to make some progress if Cyril is present.
<nigel> Cyril: I will not be there in person but can wake up early to join discussions.
<nigel> .. The Media WG meets from 1400-1900 (on whichever day of the week) to accommodate people on the West Coast.
<nigel> Gary: I just checked - they meet on Monday afternoon, and MEIG meets on Monday morning.
<nigel> Nigel: I don't think I've received feedback on DAPT or IMSC-HRM yet
<nigel> Pierre: I've had some interest from folks who want me to bug them in September.
<nigel> .. One major platform ran imschrm on a big part of their library.
<nigel> .. It turns out that a bunch of their IMSC documents were actually invalid.
<nigel> .. We're in the process of making sure that all the failures were not due to HRM failures.
<nigel> Cyril: Syntactically?
<nigel> Pierre: Yes, they were invalid syntactically - all the failures were not HRM related.
<nigel> Nigel: Were they the sort of syntax errors you might expect to be valid reasonably?
<nigel> Pierre: One of the issues was that 29.97 framerate content had frame counts of 30 occasionally.
<nigel> .. We're working through that.
<nigel> .. I expect mid-late September to have additional results.
<nigel> Nigel: Does that mean we have no IMSC or IMSC-HRM topics for TPAC?
<nigel> Pierre: I'm not aware of anything.
<nigel> Andreas: One more possible topic. Currently some standards orgs are working on liaisons that may
<nigel> .. reach TTWG and cause an agenda topic. We can decide when it arrives.
<nigel> Nigel: Thank you for the warning.
<nigel> .. In that case we have a small number of topics for the Chairs to arrange into a schedule.
<nigel> .. Thanks all.
<nigel> .. Anything else on TPAC planning?

Scheduling constraints:

1430 onwards: GK can be available
Request for #264 discussion not to clash with Aria puts it effectively between 1430 and 1730.
Request for TextTrackCue discussion to be late in the afternoon to accommodate MC (chairing WebApps). MC available 1700-1725.

Recent calls suggested no IMSC-HRM or IMSC agenda topics

DAPT and Registries need some time too, with CC joining remotely but flexible about time.
