I am reaching out to you for help with an issue. When I run the program, I got the following error message:

Could you please help me identify what went wrong?

When I entered my password, only a key icon appeared in the command line, and my password or asterisks did not show up. Is this normal?

Also, I did not do anything regarding the Dependencies listed. Would this have an impact on the issue?

My question may seem very basic or even foolish. Indeed, I have no knowledge of programming and only dared to enter GitHub with the help of ChatGDP.

Are you trying to use Evernote account or Yinxiang? Can you open https://evernote.com/ in your browser without using proxy?

This is normal. Password is hidden for security reasons when you type.

How do you install it? If you install it using homebrew or use standalone binary then you don't need anything else.

I have tried both Evernote and YinXiang. Before trying Evernote, I tried to use an YinXiang account with the "--backend china" option, but received the same error message as when logging in to my Evernote account.

I just tested it and found that I am unable to log in to Evernote without using a proxy. But when I run the program, I have enable the VPN global proxy.

Also, I am using a binary program. Do I still need to install Python in this case?

No, you don't need to install Python. The issue is that the program doesn't connect through your proxy. Try restarting terminal after you enable system wide proxy and then running evernote-backup again.

I solved the issue by setting 'verify=false', although I have no idea how it worked. Thank you very much for developing this program!
