I think https://github.com/kolloch/crate2nix might be something to look into for reproducibility ideas.

For reference. My two new easyblocks work well i think. They can vendor anything from crates.io, though more work is needed for other crates sources, but those can be left to be fetched online.

From what i can tell, the basic setup for SnapATAC2 works easybuilders/easybuild-easyconfigs#17858 , though it fails to build because it requires a newer Rust, version 1.66.0 minimum, else compilation errors when i tried the latest release, and since it lacks a lock file, and it's one of the deps that need this, it's very inconvenient to try to go with anything older

Asked the user if the installing SnapATAC2 is still relevant for them. Will reopen the ticket if the user reaches out that this is still relevant for their research.

The got back and said that they would need it in a few months but it is not super urgent right now

I asked them to open a new installation request if this is still relevant, no answer yet (since March'24), so closing...
