This PR builds on top of Maarten's work in #153 and adds support for ipywidgets 7.5 by bumping a few dependencies (jupyterlab-manager 1.0 among others).
Replaces #153.
@SylvainCorlay @maartenbreddels there might be some details that I missed from the recent ipywidgets 7.5 release, so feel free to push to the branch directly if any other change needs to be made
