About

Venmurasu Programming Team (VPT) is a program to introduce students to open source software development focusing on Natural language computing. The program has two Components:

1. Provide an ongoing mentorship program focusing on Natural language computing
2. Conduct yearly coding contest for student teams (typically First or Second yr) either from mentorship program or open to students from PSG.

How it works

Mentorship

1. Students enroll for the mentorship program during the start of their academic year as teams (2-5).
2. They can pick their area of interest from the available categories listed.
3. They are assigned to mentors
4. Monthly check-ins (remote meeting)

Coding contest

1. Enrollment starts Nov-Dec(?) of the year
2. Preference for the students undergoing mentorship program
3. Team of 2-5 students can participate
4. Student submit their results
5. Contest Results in June(?)
