Cannot Send out SMS through Ushahidi - "unable to send sms, perhaps insufficent air time" #50
Comments
@Nhorning are you able to send out SMS via the admin/messages ? Like can you reply to a received message in the Ushahidi platform? |
I just tested, and I can send a reply with no issues. |
hmm.. funky with the mobile alert feature. Perhaps it doesn't pass along the number to send the SMS to. @kamaulynder What could be the issue? It seems SMSSync can send SMSs |
Will have to do some debugging, looking into this. On Wed, Oct 24, 2012 at 8:22 PM, Henry Addo notifications@github.comwrote:
Too brief? Here's why! http://emailcharter.org |
I just received an alert from my test report after adding the country code to the number of an alert that I was just able to create through the online form (now that the sign up bug has been resolved). The time stamps say it took about 2 hours to go through, but it seemed like a much less of a delay to me. I'll have a chance to test this more thoroughly tomorrow. |
Alright, I just signed up for a mobile alert as a test (including the country code) and got a confirmation message nearly immediately. I think at this point it's safe to assume it's working as long as the country code (977) is used in the number. I'll make sure that's the case tomorrow, and include instructions on my sign up page. Thanks! |
@Nhorning Glad to hear it's working for you. Keep us posted in your findings |
After rjmacky fixed the bug in signing up for mobile alerts ushahidi/Ushahidi_Web#895
When I try to sign up for a mobile alert, or try and send out a mobile alert with a recipient created manually in the database, I receive an error similar to
"unable to send sms, perhaps insufficient air time"
This appears momentarily, and there doesn't seem to be another way to explore what happened. No new message appears in the "sent" or "pending" items.
I have checked, and I am not out of airtime, and my regular sms are sending
SMSSync v2.0.1 Beta on Samsung Galaxy Y Dous.
