Electron forge recently got an snap installer. This package will let you publish the latest ganache in the Ubuntu store, and from there reach many users on all the supported Ubuntu versions, and Linux distributions. More info: https://snapcraft.io

Thanks for submitting this, @ElOpio.

It was a bit of a struggle to get our build process up and running smoothly, so I'll need to look into this one after the 1.1.0 release. Sorry for the delay.

@ElOpio sorry for the long delay in getting back to you. During development in v1.1.0 we introduced a new update notification/auto update feature. To make this work smoothly we switched from electron-forge to electron-builder.

Further, it's not really our intention to distribute via the Ubuntu store at this time, as we're a small team and each new build type and distribution channel is another thing to break and/or account for when we need to make changes like the updater functionality. We find that the AppImage target works well on all Linux distributions we've tested (mostly debian and RedHat variants). If there's a distribution for which this is not the case, please let us know and we'll consider adding a build target for that distro.

Thanks for reviewing @benjamincburns. If you change your mind in the future, electron builder can also generate the snap. Just ping me and I can help maintaining it.
