What's Changed

  • Important note: this release will likely mess with presets or instances of Valentine that you have
in saved files. I apologize for the pain, and I can assure you that these breaks will not happen once
we hit 1.0.0. As for now, thank you for coping with it and for trying Valentine.
  • Increased maximum attack time
  • Rescaled Crush and Saturator display ranges
  • Increased maximum saturation gain
  • Lowered minimum makeup gain
  • Decreased minimum release time
  • Raised Output Clip threshold
  • Lowered the maximum crush bits to 12
  • Added a button to turn Output Clipping off
  • Added a button to turn Crush off
  • Added a button to turn Saturate off

What's Changed

  • Ratio can now be varied continuously, allowing a range from 1:1 to 20:1, then skipping to 1000:1
  • Nice parameter has been removed
  • Processed signal is no longer obviously louder even when Compress and Output are set to 0
  • Parameters are reordered in UI to reflect the order in which processing occurs
  • Parameter renames: Input -> Compress, Saturation -> Saturate
  • Gain compensation is revised for saturators, reducing signal level increase for gains around 1.0
  • Output clipping threshold is increased, making the sound in more cases more clear and dynamic

Full Changelog: v0.0.5...v0.1.0

Thank you for trying Valentine. I hope you enjoy using it. Important: there will likely be very big changes to the sound and parameters. The release is mainly meant for people who want to check out a new plugin and give feedback. :)

v0.0.1 Pre-release
Pre-release

This here's the version I've been handing out to friends. It is stable, but look out for future changes to parameters that will break presets! For this reason (along with others, of course), this is staying set to "pre release".
