LA Historical Markers is an iOS and Android app for exploring Louisiana's Historical Markers. The mobile app is built in Expo and the back-end is a combination of Azure Functions, MSSQL, and Azure Storage.
Data journalism project exploring patterns of toxic substance spills using public data from the United States Coast Guard National Response Center. Focusing on Louisiana issues for the Polluter's Paradise series (see link), a collaboration between ProPublica, The Times-Picayune and The Advocate. See below for a project overview.
Weather app originally created by CodeExplained (https://github.com/CodeExplainedRepo/Weather-App-JavaScript) to which I have added translations of weather descriptions in Kouri-Vini (Louisiana Creole) and a location search bar. This data story seeks to explore a subset of communities affected by sea level rise in Louisiana, including a Biloxi-Chitimacha-Choctaw community, whose struggles are intimately connected with the land. The leaders of these communities continue to advocate for their people and push the federal and state governments to practice climate justice.
