Please confirm the following:

  • Be sure to check out FAQ
  • I have carefully read the README
  • I have searched through the issues page but couldn't find a solution.(Including issue that has been closed)
  • Easydict has been upgraded to the latest version
  • I understand and agree to the above, and understand that the project maintainer has limited energy, issues that do not follow the rules may be ignored or closed directly

Problem description

Hi, when I try to use the EasyDict application to translate highlighted text, it crashes after about 1 second (this happens every time without fail, no matter what language I'm translating). I've been using the app for a while and it never used to crash, but it's suddenly begun doing this these days. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the application, as well as resetting permissions, to no avail. I'm happy to answer any questions if need be. Thanks!

Is the issue consistently reproducible?

Reproducible

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Highlight text (in browser or application)
  2. Click EasyDict icon
  3. Press Enter key to translate
(App begins to translate, then crashes after about 1 second)

Runtime log(zip file)

Expected result

Translate without crashing

Proposed solution (optional)

  • Perhaps one of the few translation services the app is using at once is malfunctioning? I only have it run a few of them at a time, but still.
  • Could there be any cross-app interference? I also have "Instant Translate" installed, but it never used to be an issue.

Device type and OS version

MacBook Pro 2021; Sequoia 15.1.1

^ By the way, I have tried turning off YouDao to no avail; I realize a similar issue has been reported with inputting text directly into the app (rather than my issue: starting with highlighting), but I'm not sure if that's the same problem, since the suggested YouDao solution didn't fix the issue in my case.

It is very likely similar to #769 .

We have resolved the issue #774 and will release an updated version later.
