Getting Started: App Setup
It's important to note that the app has no predefined values set, you as the patient must correctly configure the system to your personal patient profile before the APS code can be run.
Let's run over the key App Settings that can be accessed by Menu > Settings...
- Your target range for Blood Glucose, note that this should be tighter than your CGM alarm range to give the APS system time to adjust your Insulin Rate to fix High and Low blood sugars.
- CGM Source - where to get your CGM data, please be sure to configure the source app correctly
-
Open Loop - TBR / Extended Bolus suggestions are provided as notifications for the patient to aknowledge and action
-
Closed Loop - TBR / Extended Bolus are automatically accepted by the system and sent to the connected Insulin Integration App
-
APS Algorithm - current Algorithm being used, this can be changed at any time
-
APS Loop Time - when APS Algorithm is run, this is helpful when in Open Loop to not overburden the patient with too many notifications. It's important to note that if there is no suggested alteration from the APS Algorithm the user will not get a notification.
This allows the user to set personal limits on regards what the app can suggest
