Why GitHub sponsorship?

It turns out developing 3D printers is relatively costly. Prototyping involves buying parts to see how well they work, and the cost is incurred whether the part is included in the final version or not. Even the cost of 3D printing components adds up, especially since parts may need to be printed several times to get them "just right".
