About The Project

Screenshot

A monitoring solution for Docker hosts and containers with Prometheus, Grafana, cAdvisor, NodeExporter and alerting with AlertManager.

Here's why:

  • Your time should be focused on creating something amazing. A project that solves a problem and helps others
  • You shouldn't be doing the same tasks over and over like creating a README from scratch
  • You should implement DRY principles to the rest of your life 😄

Of course, no one template will serve all projects since your needs may be different. So I'll be adding more in the near future. You may also suggest changes by forking this repo and creating a pull request or opening an issue. Thanks to all the people have contributed to expanding this template!

## Getting Started

This is an example of how you may give instructions on setting up your project locally. To get a local copy up and running follow these simple example steps.

Prerequisites

This is an example of how to list things you need to use the software and how to install them.

  • Memory >=2G
    free -h
  • Docker Version >=18.00
    docker version
  • Docker Compose Version >=1.1
    docker-compose version

Installation

Below is an example of how you can instruct your audience on installing and setting up your app. This template doesn't rely on any external dependencies or services.

  1. Clone the repo

    git clone https://github.com/sonnyyu/docker-prometheus-haproxy-stack
  2. Switch to directory

    cd docker-prometheus-haproxy-stack
  3. Setup ownership as grafana

    sudo chown 472:472 -R grafana/grafana_data
  4. Start up docker stack as deamon

    docker-compose up -d
  5. Stop docker stack

    docker-compose down
  6. Remove docker stack

    docker-compose down -v
  7. Delete all containers using the following command

    docker rm -f $(docker ps -a -q)
  8. Delete all volumes using the following command

    docker volume rm $(docker volume ls -q)
  9. Deploying Portainer is as simple as:

 docker run -d -p 9000:9000 --restart always -v /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock -v /opt/portainer:/data portainer/portainer
