In versio 2.1.0 and older of socket.io, some package.json files for socket.io-chat, version: 0.0.0, by author: Grant Timmerman, indicates "license": "BSD".
I could not find the text of the license.

There was no obvious reason to use BSD instead of MIT for that very basic chat app.
