Good job! The linting succeeds and all the other list guidelines seem to be met. The only issue I could think of would be the description of the list's theme. I think game engine is too vague since you're only talking about GameMaker.
Thank you for taking a look, @RahulBirCodes! I agree, the description is a bit vague. I chose that mainly because it's the same description for the other listed engines (Godot, Unity, etc). |
Hey @bytecauldron! I think your list is great, but I'd double-check on the hard-wrapping compliance: seems like your lists have an extra line in between points, which makes it unnecessarily longer (you can easily remove them using regex in any modern text editor). Other than that, awesome job! And cheers to a fellow game developer 👊 |
Thanks, @vhladiienko! I will get that fixed. Much appreciated. Edit: Fixed! 👍 |
This is a great list and I can ONLY offer the same recommendation. i would first appreciate a succinct description of what GameMaker is (as a product/service); and then how this list applies to that product/service. |
|
oh no, not in the main directory, i meant to add a description in the header of your own list. personally, i'm not that familiar with game engines other than Unity and Unreal, so I would first like to know basic features of GameMaker, like 2D or 3D. and perhaps what type or level of Creator it targets (eg. novice or HTML5 respectively) a "succinct" one-liner is probably good for a quick intro |
@modenero Oh, gotcha! I misunderstood. I'll see what I can add, thank you. Edit: Ok, I added a one-liner at the top. Hopefully that provides some more context. 👍 |
The items in the https://github.com/bytecauldron/awesome-gamemaker#youtube section could use a description. Now it's just a random list of YouTube channels without any context. |
Gotcha, I'll work on getting that section polished up. Much appreciated! |

GameMaker is a popular, beginner-friendly video game engine for 2D (and 3D) titles. The community has created many great extensions and resources over the years that are worth sharing with both beginner and advanced game developers.
