Configuring Your Server

There are many different settings and features available for CMaNGOS servers, all of which can be configured in the applicable ".conf" files located in your server's directory. The file "mangosd.conf" is where almost all essential configurations can be made and each section of the document is prefaced with detailed explanations for every variable.

To effect changes on your server, just make your changes to the configuration files and restart your server if it is currently running. Note that some changes can be "reloaded" into the live server by using the in-game command "reload config" (.reload config).

So, for example, if you wanted to change the maximum player level to 100 you would edit the following line inside "mangosd.conf:"
MaxPlayerLevel

To set the limit to 100 it should look like this:
MaxPlayerLevel = 100

To see all of the various configurations and settings just read through the prefaces inside the ".conf" files and try them out. It is a good idea to keep a backup file saved somewhere else before making a change so that you can easily revert it.
