Description

At the time of writing Scribe is not localized at all. The language for the app across all regions both in the interface and the App Store is English (US). There are various tasks that could be created:

  • Planning how to localize the Scribe app (are there tools that should be used?)
  • Planning and implementing a feature to change the app's language #120
  • Planning where and how to save localization information for the App Store (description, keywords, etc)
  • Discussing regions that should be focussed on for localization
  • Localization information for separate regions for the App Store
  • Localizing the Scribe command buttons and command bar texts

This issue will be closed once the above is converted to individual issues in the Localization project.

Localization for the App Store would be done within Resources/AppStore, where the texts and images could be separated on a per-region basis.

Localization for the App itself would be done within a directory in Scribe-iOS/Scribe.

Localization should be done for all regions that Scribe currently has a language keyboard for in this baseline stage.

This directory was made in 2216734 - Scribe-iOS/Scribe/AppTexts.

Note that #120 is now finished and the app is now in English and German. #264 covers the app store images and I'll make a new issue to implement a localization tool, so I'll close this issue now 😊
