Deleting this as at this time it looks like we'll use Wiktionary dumps for this information :) |

Description
The
beta
Translate
feature currently accesses machine translations of English words using 🤗 Transformers models. The accuracy of these models leaves much to be desired, and the information to create a better feature is freely available. This issue is to discuss and work towards migrating translation data over to Wikidata lexemes where they would be referenced in P5972 and Q7553. Queries could then be written for word translations for each Scribe keyboard. The obvious source of these translations is Wiktionary, which has the needed data, but is not structured in a way that allows for sustainable data queries.
Input on how best to achieve this and contributions, especially from those with bot experience), would be much appreciated!
