NewVAMPIRES:Cameras
Procedures for controlling VAMPIRES cameras.
VAMPIRES has three default modes set for each camera with configurable crops
This is the standard 3"x3" FOV crop

vampires mode standard
This is a 12"x6" crop that accommadates the four 3"x3" fields produced in the multi-band imaging (MBI) mode.

vampires mode mbi
This field crops out the 625nm field so that the maximum readout speed of the detector can still reach ~500 fps while still imaging three 3"x3" FOVs.

vampires mode reduced
To set the camera exposure time
⛔️ This does not exist yet
vampires tint <tint>
🤯 Pro-tip: Automatic exposure time calculation
If you have a desired average signal in ADU or electrons you can quickly estimate the required integration time with
vampires get-tint <adu>
vampires get-tint -e <e>
💡 Tip: Automatic readout mode
The slow readout mode offers uncompromised read noise at the cost of slower frame rates, but we recommend switching to it whenever your exposure times cross the threshold for the maximum slow-mode frame rate. This is ~30ms in SINGLE or MBI-REDUCED modes, and is ~60ms in MBI mode.

vampires tint <tint> --auto
